My journey as an artist started with being frequently grounded from drawing during my elementary school years. In middle school, I became a master of skipping classes to dive into more interesting books at libraries and bookstores. Books about art and of course Comic Books. Even took night classes at a community college to learn Computer Aided Design, which left me too exhausted to bother with homework. Somehow, I still managed to get into the National Honor Society and wing my SATs. By the time I attended art school, I already knew most of the design softwares on the curriculum, so I ended up skipping more classes—though I wouldn't recommend that one, lol.
All these adventures from my "misspent youth" in the 80s and 90s shaped me into the professional artist I am today. Now, I'm a Graphic Designer by day, a Multidisciplinary Artist by night, and I serve as the artistic director on the board of the Asian Film Festival of Dallas. My free time consists of working on personal projects as a co-op member at the Cedars Union Arts Incubator, and hanging out with the Dallas Asian American Artist Collective. Some of my projects have involved working with clients like the Crow Museum of Asian Art, DIFF, TONI&GUY, FC DALLAS etc.
