###

About the Exhibition Taking place at 400h gallery in Sundance Square, DAAART aims to showcase and amplify the work of AAPI artists based in Texas. The theme of this year’s art show (and AAPI Arts Festival) references our shared commonalities in the Asian Texan experience and sheds light on the historic presence and contributions of AAPIs to Texas.  We chose ‘Ginger’ for its shared use in cuisine across all communities of the Asian diaspora. It also represents the multifaceted struggle of the Asian American experience. Roots’ boldly refer to the fact that Asians have been in Texas since the 1800s and have helped to shape its history as we in turn have been shaped by it. By putting the two together: Ginger Roots, we aim to share a uniquely Asian Texan arts experience to the City of Fort Worth and the greater Texan community.
